900tc-king-silk-goose-down-pillowTo get a good night sleep one must in vest in a well constructed pillow.
There are different choices that come down to fill, support and size.
To get a light support you would choose a soft fill like down alternative, goose down feathers or silk.
Organic cotton or wool gives you a firmer support. Added support I would pick a gusseted pillow with side walls that help it keep and maintain the pillows shape.
Latex natural foam helps to relieve pressure on your body as it molds to your neck, shoulders and spine.
Whatever your pick out for your style of pillow, take some extra money and in vest in a pillow protector for hygiene buffer. It is a good practice to find out when buying pillows if they are washable or have to be dry clean. Replacing old pillows with new ones over a few years is good practice too as pillows break down and get uncomfortable to sleep on.

tailored-bedskirt300-solid-woven-dots-egyptian-cottonThere are three types of bed skirts to choose from ruffled, box pleated and tailored. You will have to decide the style you prefer before buying.

Choose a bed skirt to complete your bedroom décor. Bed skirts can match with your comforter ensemble or contrast the color with you curtains, the headboard, or your walls.  Bed skirts drape below your comforter and touches the floor The space between your box spring and floor is what the bed skirt hides .This then gives your bed a nice finished look.

Bed skirts contain a white fabric that is the same size as your box spring. It is sewn on three sides. To place the bed skirts properly remove your top mattress and spread the bed skirt on the box spring. Your ruffle or fabric will only extend on three sides Place the edge that has no fabric to the top of the bed .The bed skirt should now drape to the floor on both sides and at the bottom foot board.

Bed skirts can be use in baby cribs and children’s bedrooms as well. In children’s room they can enhance a theme of colors and fun. Bed skirts hide the space under a child’s bed, so they will use it to hide things. Don’t forget to peek under the bed skirt if something goes missing.

When it comes to our personal needs and the climate we live in it is crucial to know what to buy in a down comforter. Here is a reference guide to down comforters.

What is Down?

Down is the fluffy feathers found under the big feathers of a duck. This is what keeps them warm in cold weather.

Fill=Quality of the Down

The size and density of the feathers found in the comforter is the fill. The higher the number of fill the larger and stronger the comforter. Comforters with smaller feathers are lower price seem to be frail and breakdown easily. The larger feathers have more insulation and last longer.

Thread Count

The number of threads in a square inch of fabric is known as a thread count. The higher thread count in the fabric the higher quality of the yarn. The smaller thread counts allow the feathers to poke through.

These are just a few references to look at when buying a down comforter.

percale

If you’ve never paid much attention to your bed linen, you might not be aware of what percale is. In fact, you might never have heard of that term at all. But the next time you’re shopping for sheets, keep your eyes open, and you’re bound to come across the word. Percale is a type of weave distinguished for its close knit style. Because percale is actually a type of weave, the content of the fabric doesn’t determine whether it’s “percale” or not.

In this way, percale sheets can be a blend of cotton and polyester, pure cotton, or any other combination of fabric elements. The thread count of these sheets is usually at least 200 or higher. Considered a higher quality weave, it is noticeably more compact and tight than standard bed sheeting. People also often note that percale washes easily and does not deteriorate with multiple washings over time.

full-queen-solid-300-thread-count-duvet-sets-in10-colorsWhen looking for bed linens you probably have notice all the available choices there is in top sheets, fitted sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers and comforters. They all come in many styles and colors, patterns and fabric.

To be on the safe side before buying your bed linens measure your bed to make sure of the size. Many manufacturers are changing the size of their beds, so be safe and measure before shopping. Measure the thickness of your mattress as some fitted sheets are made for thinner mattresses. For best quality, look for fitted sheets with elastic on the sides or on the corners.

When picking your fabric considers the faxes that your sheets pillow cases and duvet covers will be touching your skin. Look for natural fibers like linen, cotton, or blends. They wick away moisture, and dry quickly, adsorbent and they feel really soft. Pure cotton fabric feels cooler against the skin.

Some of the best types of natural fabrics for bed linens that have durability and softness, come from Egyptians cotton and Pima or Sup Irma. The fact that the fibers are longer makes the cotton better then regular cheap cotton with lower thread count. This is important for when you are buying bed linens that the fiber is longer as it gives stronger thread and yarns and you end up with stronger fabric in your bed sheets, pillow cases, duvet covers and comforters and more. There is more to learn so I will look into things to keep in mind when buying fine bed linens
