You can look at synthetic down instead if the usual down. Synthetic is not as warm and durable as regular down but comes very close.

Like some you may be allergic to regular down comforters, so your solution lies in buying allergen free down comforters.

Does the cost have you worried, then look in to buying polyester comforters? Not as comfortable as regular down comforters but still light to feel and can be machine washed, which is a convenience factor?

Money no object then you might consider a silk alternative down comforter. Silk comforters are very good to feel and the best when it comes to allergy, they are naturally hypoallergenic. However they can only be dry cleaned and not put in a washing machine.

The last type of comforter you may want to conceder is wool filled down. They are light and warm as regular down comforters but pretty expensive, second only to silk.

We must look to see if there are different types to choice from when it comes to down alternative comforters for those who may be allergic to goose down. Down alternative comforters can be found in hypo allergenic comforters and other made out of synthetic materials.

Most of these alternatives will not be as warm as goose or duck down. The benefit is that you will eliminate the allergy risk.

Down Or Alternative Comforters

Down comforters are very fluffy and luxurious and comfortable. If you don’t have one consider buying one as it is essential for a good night slept. The good down comforter can be expensive. There are affordable prices out there that are well worth the comfort and warmth.

Down is the coating that protects the birds from the cold outside elements. This is what is used for warm comforters and pillows. The higher the fill, the warmer the comforter. 600 or more is considered warm enough for fall and winter nights.

People with allergies might prefer down alternative comforters made from polyester fibers provides insulation that is good as down.

 

Flannel and Bamboo Sheets

Flannel sheets in the winter months give people a feeling of snugness and safety during freezing winter nights. Flannel sheets are made from a blend of wool and cotton.

A down pillow will provide the right support for any body shape. The filling breathes easily and will last for many years with the correct care.
